I will never forget the contempt with which my oncologist treated me after I told him that I had no intention of doing chemo/radiation. I will also never forget that 8 years ago my younger sister was coerced into doing chemo/radiation by her employer or they would deny her disability income. She did not survive her 'treatment'. I grieve her still.

Being a dissident is hard. Most of the time you're alone against many. I was lucky that I had some support but I don't blame people who were under they most intense social, emotional and economic pressure you could imagine. I'm so grateful for my small tribe of resisters both online and offline who helped to hold the line against this psy-op that is still ongoing.

Thank you for all your excellent work Margaret.

Oh, it'll be much more intense, than merely anarchy, if they try to bring back masks and the rest of the nonsense.

NEVER AGAIN!

Thank you for being a light in some very dark times. I always appreciate your perspective and kind words.

You're incredibly skilled at painting a clear picture for people to look at the world differently. I have no doubt that you've inspired many to keep going when it hasn't been easy, I can personally attest to that.

MAA your work will resonate in future decades with the same power as Camus and Arendt (and the spirit of the Repo Man soundtrack)

can i give a plug for john c.a. manley, who wrote what I believe is the first lockdown novel, much ado about corona....with a cover by jordan henderson

In the early dark days of 2020, it was a Winter Oak essay which alerted me to the essential evil of what was happening and how what was happening was just part of a long history of the attempt by corporations in league with government and public institutions to stifle the human spirit and suck all joy from our lives, all spontaneity, creativity, enterprise and freedom. I knew these monsters, from within. I had always known them. My spirit and my soul knew them, but it took Paul's essay for me to consciously recognise them.

So thank you for this. We are all of us part of a shining web which resonates and makes profound and unexpected connections each time we move to express ourselves in writing or via spoken words. Even our thoughts, unspoken and unwritten, resonate across this shimmering web.

Nothing wrong with being a peaceful anarchist. Nothing at all. The powers that be have never shown they know how to govern the world or any of us for that matter.

Happy Stackaversary MAA - I am grateful for you and your masterful prose. God bless you.

PS. Cat Stevens was my fave as a teenager. 🎵Oh baby baby it’s a wild world. 🎵

Oh how prophetic that was!

We are either freedom lovers or those who support tyranny. No wonder our country is divided--these two groups cannot coexist, one must be destroyed. Long live freedom.

What an absolute treat.I will reread and re-listen.

"Eventually, after layer after layer of artifice has been peeled away, we will see the horrible truth about the psychopathic mafia and the physical and psychological slavery they have imposed on us for so long."

"Once we have understood this, we will all know what to do next."

🎯 We will. Shedding those layers has to come first. And because we are shedding layers with identities once attached, (I am a Democrat for instance) when we've shed all the layers, we are not the same people we were when we started. What do humans with a 'core' identity - freed from illusions - look like? We're gonna find out.

Many many thanks that you spend your time doing what you do, Margaret-Anna. It's always a lift, and you've introduced me to more writers. Best to you.

Thank you for being among those that allowed me to retain my sanity throughout the hurricane of insanity that enveloped the world in 2020.

I am not exaggerating. The sense of isolation as the madness spread throughout The People's Republic of Silicon Valley, which then evolved into outright demonization and calls to deny "people like me" freedom of movement, medical care, and even to ship us off to parts unknown, especially by people I'd known and worked with for years, was extremely difficult to endure.

Engaging with you in gato's comment section, and then reading and watching your work as it has evolved to the point where you are taking your rightful place among the true intellectuals of our time has been gratifying, inspiring and uplifting.

You have the intestinal fortitude of a Rhodesian Ridgeback and the pen of a prose Edna St. Vincent Millay, and have truly risen to the occasion. Good on you.

Happy anniversary Margaret.

Well done, that was an uplifting read in a time of bleakness.

This idiocracy becomes more insane by the day. People around me are hopelessly mentally ill, as they are perfectly adjusted to our abnormal society - to paraphrase Aldous Huxley.

Keep up the good work MAA. Sane voices in an insane world grow louder, more noticeable, and are increasingly important to have around.
