I actually wrote it for adults originally but was happy to learn from numerous parents that their children immediately “got” it and loved it. One person even ordered a box of copies for her homeschool group. Others have said it helped teach their kids critical thinking and skepticism of authority.
As for the upbeat ending, it is up to us to bring that to fruition in reality :-)
Unfortunately when I showed the book to a local preschool teacher, she said she'd probably be fired for reading this to her kids. So the oppression continues...
Sadly true. Thankfully in one of our local school districts there's been a major pushback against the SOJI propaganda from parents and they were successful in shutting down a drag queen storytime at the public library. Which the local media of course wept crocodile tears over.
