Today, April 25, marks the one-year anniversary of my Substack, which I launched with the essay I still consider the Rosetta Stone to my investigations of propaganda, totalitarianism, and mass hypnosis:
It started haphazardly. I’d written a comment in response to a NextDoor post titled “So many people think these Covid rules are for our safety but it’s really about control.” By the time I finished writing it, the original post—not surprisingly given the Stalinist levels of censorship on that platform—had been disappeared.
I read the comment to my husband, and he suggested I submit it to OffGuardian. But first, I needed a place to house it. I’d been wanting to start a Substack for months, so this seemed like the moment to do it. I knocked out my Stack in an afternoon, emailed my submission to OffGuardian, and forgot about it for a few weeks while I got waylaid by client projects.
Then Kit Knightly, OffGuardian cofounder/coeditor/writer, emailed to say they wanted to run my article. That piece subsequently got picked up by hundreds of other outlets around the world, including ZeroHedge, Lew Rockwell, The Burning Platform, and Straight Line Logic. It also got translated into multiple languages and led many people to sign up for my mailing list, which had started at nil since I’d only told a tiny number of people initially.
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.”
And thus began my best of times amidst the worst of times. While COVID has been used to unleash totalitarianism and achieve the largest transfer of wealth from the lower/middle classes to corporations/elites in history, it has also yielded unexpected blessings. For me, this came in the form of inspiring me to finally carve out time for my own writing—partly because client work had diminished due to the economic impact of autocratic measures but mostly because I refused to remain silent in the face of tyranny.
It is no small exaggeration to say the fate of humanity hangs in the balance, and I could not live with myself if I didn’t harness all of my abilities to thwart the greatest threats to humanity in history—globally orchestrated democide and One-World Totalitarianism.
It just so happened that my decades of avid reading across the spectrum of disciplines—most notably topics such as health (e.g., autoimmune and infectious diseases, pandemics, and diet/nutrition/supplements); propaganda, media narratives, framing, and mass control; psychology; cognitive biases; totalitarianism and genocide throughout history; science; philosophy; literature; film; culture; politics; and dystopian novels—had equipped me to recognize the psychological manipulations that were being used to coerce the public; see through the embarrassingly blatant Big Lies about health and science; and identify the telltale signs of tyranny.
So that’s how it started. And now it’s a year later, and 6,533 of you have chosen to join my mailing list. One of the greatest joys that has come out of this experience is connecting with kindred independent, critical thinkers around the world, including and especially all of you. I feel like I am fulfilling my deepest purpose, and you guys helped make that possible.
Never did I imagine I would have the opportunity to interact with heroic figures like Dr. Tess Lawrie (and profile her), Dr. Robert Malone (and profile him), Dr. Pierre Kory, Dr. Jessica Rose, Steve Kirsch, Mathew Crawford, Dr. Meryl Nass, Dr. Paul Alexander, Dr. Colleen Huber, Dr. Toby Rogers, James Lyons-Weiler, Marc Girardot, Aaron Siri, Mark Crispin Miller, Celia Farber, Heather Heying, and Laura Dodsworth and to collaborate with Fernando Andacht, CJ Hopkins, Anne Gibbons, Tessa Lena, and Nevermore Media (stay tuned for more details on Nevermore in a future post).
I started to make a list of the oodles of other Substackers whose friendship and contributions I treasure, but the list grew so long and I feared I would hurt some people’s feelings by accidentally omitting them (I already feel guilty about not including everyone I was tempted to name in the above paragraph!), so I will just point you to my profile, where you will find the couple hundred+ Stackers I follow.
That said, I would like to single out for special mention Dr. Mike Yeadon. If Dr. Lawrie is the Queen of Integrity, Dr. Yeadon is the King. I had immeasurable respect for Mike long before joining Substack, having been particularly impacted by his Planet Lockdown interview. Thanks to Substack, I have the privilege of calling him one of my most cherished friends today. I will give Mike his proper due in an upcoming Profile in Courage but could not neglect to mention him here.
Speaking of Planet Lockdown, it was Catherine Austin Fitts’s first Planet Lockdown interview that gave me the stratospheric view of the global financial system depredation underway, so I was truly honored when one of my commenters, Teresa L (formerly Pèlerine), informed me that Catherine discussed my Letter to the California Legislature on the April 21, 2022, Money & Markets show from the Solari Report:
“I just wanted to let you know that they featured this article on last week’s ‘Money & Markets’ show (posted on Thursday nights), in which Catherine Austin Fitts and John Titus discuss the medical, financial, political and cultural news and events!!! Congratulations!!! And thank you for the fantastic work that you do!”
I am also compelled to shout out a new talent who is not only brainy and brawny but also riotously hysterical: Sage Hana, whom I think of as a little sister. Sage has been writing a post-pomo meta sci-fi retro-futuristic techno-horror serial novella in which characters like Steve Kirsch, Robert Malone, Mike Yeadon, Glenn Greenwald, Tulsi Gabbard, Joe Rogan, Jordan Peterson, Klaus Schwab, and Hillary Clinton play roles. It is brimming with delicious (literally) inside jokes for those of us in the Team Reality/Truth/Freedom/Humanity Substack micro-community.
I was introduced as a character in Episode 6, in which we learn Sage, Dr. Malone, and I first met at Gitmo Concentration Camp, and now we are busy repairing the Great-Resetted world (specifically, I am working with Malone on “organizing the new Ethics in Science Movement”):
Here’s an excerpt to whet your appetite:
“The mRNA Inventor had re-built his ranch after returning from the Gitmo Concentration Camp where he had made the acquaintance of Margaret Anna Alice and Sage ‘Galoshes’ Hana, who you will recall was left behind in the Steve Kirsch organized insurrection.
“The two dissident writers, MAA and Sage, had become friends at the camp and MAA was saddened that Kirsch had left Galoshes behind.”
There is also a subscriber I previously thanked in the announcements section of this piece but who deserves celebration on my one-year anniversary for having played a pivotal role in helping my blog reach infinitely more people than I ever hoped: Mises Institute Board member Steve Berger, who once told me, “You changed my life and strengthened my immunity to propaganda and tyranny.”
Steve is the one who connected me with Lew Rockwell, whom he described as “a big fan of my essays.” Now a subscriber and friend, Lew has published nearly all of my articles, bless him.
At the risk of sounding like an overly-long Oscar speech, I also wish to thank Jim Quinn, Stucky, and Austrian Peter for publishing many of my essays at The Burning Platform. Jim was kind enough to quote from one of our exchanges in Gradually, … Then Suddenly!, and ZeroHedge just happened to use my quote in their teaser for the article when they published it (speaking of ZeroHedge, I owe them hearty thanks for publishing several of my essays, most recently Profiles in Courage: The Canadian Truckers).
I’ve already mentioned Kit Knightly of OffGuardian, but I hold a special place in my heart for Kit since he was the first to publish my work, and I am grateful for his faith in my writing.
Most of all, I want to thank YOU.
To each one of you who has taken these extraordinary actions, please accept my teary-eyed THANK-YOU.
To those of you who have not yet subscribed, your very presence here is a treasure, and by reading, sharing, commenting, emailing, reposting, and talking about my articles with people, you are helping me fulfill my mission to unmask totalitarianism and awaken the sleeping before tyranny triumphs. I also extend a tender thank-you to every one of you.
You may notice I don’t restrict comments to paid subscribers. I know this strategy works because it is what has gotten me to subscribe to other Substackers in almost every case.
But I don’t want to do that. I don’t want to do that because part of what is so special about this experience is building a beautiful community of truth-seeking, freedom-defending critical thinkers whose loving spirits, wisdom, and courage buoy one another up.
We don’t always share the same beliefs, ideas, and convictions—and that’s okay! We’re all independent thinkers on our individual paths, and—unlike those who oppose freedom—we tolerate one another’s differing perspectives. We listen, we warmly affirm, and we respectfully disagree with one another (except for the occasional troll, Covidian, or intolerant fanatic who abuses those who don’t share their peculiar beliefs, but those are blessedly rare here).
What brings us all together is our shared desire to defeat totalitarianism and save lives, and tangential differences can be set aside as we link arms to resist the forces violently remolding this world into the tyrants’ grotesque vision of subjugation, dependency, devastation, and death. We need to work in harmony to vanquish these forces, and I am thrilled to see that tidal wave of love swelling up and spilling out from this little corner of the Internet.
That’s why I don’t want to restrict the comments. And that’s why I spend an inordinate amount of time responding to them. It may become necessary for me to taper back as my commentariat grows, but for now, I’ll continue responding as the time-space continuum permits (I still have a few hundred comments to catch up on at Are You a Good German or a Badass German? but hope to soon).
If you are glad I’m not imposing restrictions, please consider subscribing.
I know humans are more likely to respond to negative incentives than positive ones, but I want to flip that around and show you guys are different.

That said, some of you have lost your jobs, are on fixed incomes, or can barely cover your expenses. Inflation is surging, and budgets are tightening for all of us. Please don’t subscribe if you are facing financial hardships.
This space is for everyone, especially those who are suffering, and I don’t want anyone to feel guilty (as some of you have so movingly emailed me to say) for not subscribing. Just being here is more than enough.
I know some people don’t like getting locked into recurring payments. I understand that, too. If you prefer to make a one-time contribution, I am always thankful for whatever you choose to give:

Thank you, truly, one and all. I literally could not do this without you.
Below is a fun-size story I wrote a while back. Maybe I should have made it “In Two Years” given the pace at which the resetters are accelerating the controlled demolition of the world financial system, Old World Order, and moral fabric that once tethered humanity together. You and I are working hard to stop it, though, so I’m hoping we can write a happier ending to this prognostication before it comes true.
In Five Years (a Short Story)
In five years, no one will remember natural immunity existed. They will call you an anti-vaxxer for whispering such a term while they stand in line for their 187th booster.
In five years, no one will remember where one person’s body ends and the body politic begins. They will call you selfish for thinking you have a right to decide how your body is handled and what transgresses the perimeters of your flesh.
In five years, no one will remember there was such a thing as privacy. They will call you a criminal for suggesting people should be permitted a quiet space away from the eyes of Big Mother, Big Tech, and your surveilling cohabitants.
In five years, no one will remember the concept of independence. They will call you antisocial for wishing to carve out your own destiny rather than relying on the beneficence of OneState.
In five years, no one will remember they have the right to say, “No.” They will call you an insurrectionist for questioning the commands spilling out of the telescreen.
In five years, no one will remember natural birth ever occurred. They will call you primitive for thinking embryos were once fertilized and grown inside the body rather than in a laboratory.
In five years, no one will remember parents once cared for their own children. They will call you anti-child if you wish to live with your progeny instead of surrendering your newborns to the State so you can resume your lives of lazy, submissive convenience.
In five years, no one will remember heart attacks, strokes, and blot clots were previously uncommon among children, teens, and young adults. They will call you anti-medicine for saying the young were predominantly healthy with rare exceptions.
In five years, no one will remember diversity of opinion once existed. They will call you a heretic for choosing to think your own thoughts instead of zealously professing the beliefs issued by OneState.
In five years, no one will remember what responsibility was. They will call you ungrateful if you want to unplug from the Metaverse and seize control of your own life and will.
In five years, no one will remember what freedom means. They will call you a conspiracy theorist for claiming people once had the ability to do what they liked, go where they liked, and think what they liked.
In five years, no one will remember what love was. They will call you intolerant for wishing to bond with a single beloved instead of offering your body to whosoever demands it.
In five years, no one will remember death once happened naturally. They will call you a science-denier if you express a longing to remain alive beyond the term allotted by OneState.
What do you think no one will remember in five years?
