The Trust Fall
Who better to represent the topic of Courage than Julian Assange? Before we get to the memes (which includes a special section on #FreeAssange at the end), I want to alert everyone to The Trust Fall, a pivotal documentary just beginning to hit theaters.
Most excitingly, you can play a role in the international movement to #FreeAssange by asking your local theaters to carry the film:
I did, and within hours, I had heard from a film buyer who represents a chain of theaters on the West Coast (US) as well as many others. He asked for details about the film, saying, “I think the Assange story is one that needs be heard.” I provided relevant links along with filmmaker Kym Staton’s email. I hope to be able to share the fruits of that exchange in a future post if and when an agreement is solidified.
As I told the film buyer:
“This is a powerful example of how ordinary individuals can effect meaningful change with the simplest of acts. As Margaret Mead said, ‘Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.’”
Please join me in helping to get The Trust Fall into theaters around the world to set the record straight about the most heroic and persecuted journalist of our time at this dramatic moment when his fate hangs in the balance.
