Looking at history through the theme of "Mistakes were not made" makes it easier to realize how truly that applied to the past 6 years. Evil, war, disregard for the sanctity of life, and mass murder for the sake of cruel power over others is a constantly recurring theme. Should something so ingrained within the human condition come as a surprise when man made medical weapons and products are used to achieve medical tyranny over a huge percentage of the world's population? Would anybody be surprised that the same world that brought Stalin's purges, the Cultural Revolution, the Holocaust, and the killing fields of Cambodia could do this to its population under the guise of "public health"?
It is almost a cliche now to say those who don't remember history are doomed to repeat it, and that is just what has happened. A repeat of atrocities, this time so deceptively cloaked that many people who lived through it will spend their whole lives insisting on the presented narrative.
But you hit the nail straight on, none of what happened since 2020 was an "oopsie". Mistakes were not made, it was all quite intentional, just as all prior atrocities were. Nobody says "oops, sorry, my bad" while exterminating millions of the population.
